A LONG WALK | A POEM

I am lost in your words
And I want no respite
I forget you are talking
As we share the street light

It is frosty, it is cold
There is snow on the ground
But I am glowing in devotion
To the cadence of your mind

A rare, warm occurrence
Is a voice such as yours
It shakes
It softens
It questions
It cares

Your syllables leave room
For a desired response
My silence is valued
And so are my thoughts

I am ready for a question
To sweep me off my feet
I know it is coming
It will sound long and sweet

Keep me dependent
On the way that you talk
Each breath is a miracle
Rescuing me as we walk

_

I wish that this street
Would go on forever
and ever
and ever

I could listen all my life

    1. Love, she begins with a slight ache of the heart
Next you feel her consuming you
The sun falls, you sense the subtle sweetness
You shut your eyes but your mind still wanders
